Examining the Myths of the Vietnam War
MEET THE PARTICIPANTS
Press Preview Sunday At 3:00 P.M.
Members of the media can meet some of the organizers and panelists of an upcoming conference at 3:00 PM on Sunday, July 25, in the Faculty Dining Room, Beatty Hall, Wentworth Institute of Technology, 550 Huntington Avenue. Boston, MA. (Take the Green Line "E" Train from Government Center to the Museum of Fine Arts Station.)
The nomination of Vietnam veteran John Kerry in Boston provides an opportunity for America to reconsider that controversial war and to correct some widely-accepted mythology about who Vietnam veterans were, what they did, and why it mattered. In that spirit, this conference has been convened to reexamine some of the most controversial issues of the conflict.
The Conference, which runs from 26 to 29 July, in Room C-103, Simmons College, 3000 Fenway, Boston, (at the same MBTA stop) is not designed to focus heavily upon Senator Kerry personally. At minimum, people who attend this conference will understand that a great deal of the "conventional wisdom" about Vietnam is in error.
