For Immediate Release:

The Southeast Asian Viewpoint
Vietnamese, Lao, Cambodian, Dega and Hmong Invited

Interested Vietnamese, Lao, Cambodian, Dega and Hmong are all invited to take part in a discussion of the Southeast Asian point of view on the Second Indochina War and its aftermath, to be held on Wednesday, July 28 at 1800 hrs (6 PM Civilian Time) at Simmons College. The program is offered by Vietnam Veterans, Academics, and Authors whose participation in the events of that war make them especially interested in the recollections of the men and women who we sought to help.

This session, scheduled to take place in Auditorium C-103 in the Main College Building at Simmons College, 300 The Fenway, Boston, is open without charge to any people of a Southeast Asian heritage who will be in the Boston area. It would be helpful to have some indication of the speaker's background and the general subject area about which he or she would like to speak so we can put the speakers in a practical sequence. These can be posted on the website (www.Viet-Myths.net ) in the discussion forum under Session 15 or they may be emailed to sherman1@flash.net

Speakers are invited to speak in ANY language that they feel most comfortable using. If they speak in a language other than English, we ask that they provide about 200 copies of an English translation of their remarks for the audience to follow. The audience size will be limited to available seating space, but there will be several overflow rooms set up in the event of extraordinary interest. This program is a part of a larger series of discussions that will take place during the week of July 26th described at www.Viet-Myths.net. The full week’s program requires a modest fee for participation.

Those interested are asked please not to call Simmons College for information. While Simmons is providing the facilities, the College is not able to respond to questions. Any questions about the event may be emailed to sherman1@flash.net.
